Double River Dog: From the Rivermouth

At the edge of Margs, where the river meets the ocean, things are always moving. The banks shift, the current pulls in different directions, and no two sessions are ever quite the same. 

It's a spot you don't just turn up to and figure out straight away. You spend some time there, watch it and learn how it behaves. 

The people who grow up around it tend to stick close. Around here, they call themselves River Dogs. 

The Original 

River Dog was built to reflect that place. 

It's a South West Coast IPA - bright and fruit driven, but with that unmistakable resinous edge running through it. You get stone fruit, papaya and grapefruit up front, backed by pine and a clean, balanced bitterness that holds it all together. 

It's not just a throwaway beer. It's got structure, a bit of bite, and a level of balance that keeps you coming back. 

So we pushed it further ...

Double River Dog takes everything that defines the original and leans into it. 

More hops. More resin. More intensity across the board. 

At 8.5% it's a bigger beer, but it still carries the same DNA. Bright, tropical character layered with sticky bitterness and a fuller malt base to support it.

You'll pick up fleshy peach and nectarine straight away, with tangerine and grapefruit sitting underneath. The resin really comes through too, the sticky, slightly bitter edge that lingers and builds. 

There's more weight in the body, a bit more warmth on the nose, and a richer malt presence tying it all together. It's bold, but it's not all over the place. 

Like the rivermouth on a solid day - a bit heavier, a bit faster, but still with a rhythm if you know where to look.
