The inspiration
The name In the Pines is a nod to three things that capture the beer’s connection to Margs, music and hops.
First, there’s The Pines Mountain Bike Network, a popular network of trails just north of Margaret River town centre and a big part of our region’s outdoor culture.
Then there’s the musical connection: “In the Pines,” a traditional American folk song made famous by artists including Lead Belly, and later performed by Nirvana as “Where Did You Sleep Last Night” during their iconic MTV Unplugged session.
And finally, the beer itself. Citra and Amarillo hops bring piney, fruity and tropical notes, with plenty of pineapple and stone fruit character.
Put it all together, and In the Pines is a name with a little bit of Margs, a little bit of music, and a whole lot of hop character.
